Winter Warmers this week - if the weather permits will be a 1 - 2 - 3 stableford.  There is one spare 8am start time and several at 8.30am still available.

Availability - sheets are on the clubhouse noticeboard for the mixed competition with Stoke ladies on 24th March, the Captain v Vice Captain match on March 31st and for the inter club matches during April.  They will be removed at the end of February.  it is NOT necessary to have an active handicap to play in these matches this season.

Summer Pairs & Singles Knock Outs -the entry sheet for these competitions is on the noticeboard and entries close on 21st February with the first rounds starting in March.  Again active handicaps are NOT required to enter this seasons competitions.

Last week - despite the forecasts of rain and snow 49 Stoke Seniors turned up for this weeks Winter Warmer on what proved to be an ideal day for winter golf  although the frozen ground made much of the play a lottery.  Playing a better ball stableford with two mulligans each winners were Alan Dolby and John Wright with 48 points, second with 46 were their playing partners Mike Palmer and Seniors Captain Tim Haward, 3rd on count back with 45 were Cliff Mills and Roger Smith.

Overall lead stays with Roy Rowe on 34 points from Les Cooper 29,  Ron Kent  and Trevor Harvey 27, Cliff Mills and Roger Smith on 26 points.    For the full table visit the Winter Warmers page.

Stoke Seniors Open Championship - on Wednesday 19th May 2010 - entry forms and posters are being distributed this week - a copy of the entry form can be downloaded from this entry form link.

Winter League -   With the co-operation of some pairs agreeing to 9-9 scorelines for unplayed matches the leagues have now been completed and the final tables can be seen on the Winter League page.
The line up for the Quarter Finals of the knock out plays off to decide who will be this years Winter League champions is as follows:-
C.Donnison & R.Elsome v. G.Ewart & M.Nixon
R.Kent & J.Martindale v. E.Armstrong & Barrie Griffin
A.Dolby & B.Keightley v. Alan Harvey & A.Jessop
The fourth match should have featured K.Dugmore & W.Stephenson against G. Miller and M. Cleaver, however Graham has scratched from the competition out of respect for the memory of Mike Cleaver, which means that Keith & Wilf progress to the semi final.
