Stoke Seniors Open Championship - a large number of entries have now been received so it is important if you want to enter to get your forms in without further delay.  The allocation of start times will be made on 21st March. The Open is on Wednesday 19th May 2010 - entry forms and posters have been distributed to many clubs - a copy of the entry form can be downloaded from this entry form link.

Tee Times - 17th March - this is advance notice that the leaders of the Winter Warmers competition and those in contention for the Slack Goblet will be requested to play in the 9.30am draw on the final round of the competition. Those most likely to be involved are shown on the draw sheet page. The competition prizes will be presented at the end of play on that day.

Captain v Vice Captain match - 31st March - the teams and rough tee times for this match are now on the teamsheet page.

Captain's Cup - Seniors Captain Tim Haward has decided that the Captain's Cup for 2010 will be awarded on the following basis - "It will include our Summer Trophy rounds, our Bagshaw Bowl, Open and Autumn Cup. It will also include performance in Matches plus a special bonus as he sees fit. In the lead at the moment is Chris Woof with 1 point as he gave the Captain  a b*****king for slow play within 2 hrs of his election at the AGM. "

Winter Warmers - 57 points wins - last week our Winter Warmers competition was a pairs better ball with two throws and two jokers each player. Winners with 57 points on count back were Chris Woof and Malcolm Edwards, 2nd also 57 were John Wright and Alan Dolby and 3rd with 56 points Terry Garland and John Helstrip.

Overall Lead : Ominously Les Cooper taking advantage of the absence of Cliff Mills and Roy Rowe moved into equal first place with Cliff on 40 points with Roy one adrift at 39.  This is the closest finish we have had to a Winter Warmers series for many years and is now all down to the next and final  two weeks. Knock Out Draws -  have been completed and can be seen on  the Singles KO page and the Pairs KO page. The holder of the singles Wilf Stephenson has been drawn to play Cliff Mills in Round One.
