Captains Away Day - Three pairs score 51 points - Adrian Childs took 40 Stoke Seniors to Toft for his Captains Away Day and a thoroughly enjoyable day it proved to be. The heavy showers which had been forecast did not materialize. Three pairs scored 51 points and places had to be decided on count back. Winners were Charles Donnison who is this summers man in form having reached the final of both singles and pairs knockouts and lying second in the Trophy, and his partner Tim Haward who was playing his first round of golf for six months. Tim did admit that he had been to the range on Monday. Second placed were David Goodwillie and John Stapleton and third Don Werner and John Smeeton. Fourth with 48 pts were Joe Kime and Gareth Hughes. Following an excellent meal everyone went home with a prize.
The winning pair, Tim Haward & Charles Donnison Seniors Invitation - is on Wednesday 3rd September, the entry form is on the clubhouse notice board. This is your opportunity to invite someone from another club to play as your partner. Don't delay, choose your tee time from those still available and enter now. Winter League - details are on the notice board and you may enter in pairs before 7th September deadline.
