On a splendid Autumnal morning, Stoke seniors held Spalding seniors to an away draw. After 5 results, Stoke were leading by 4 - 1 but were unable to secure the additional point to win. Best result for Stoke was by John Acton and Ernie Armstrong by 6 and 5; it obviously pays Ernie to turn up late for the fixture and not get overly excited about golf.  Adrian Childs & Roland Slack won 2 & 1, Richard Leverett & Alan Dolby won 3 & 1, Eric Harby & Joe Lindley lost 3 & 2, John Acton & Ernie Armstrong won 6 & 5, Brian Ayto & John Smeeton won 2 & 1, Don Clements & Tony Smith lost 2 & 1, Phillip Varley & Richard Marshall lost 2 & 1 and John Callow & John Stapleton lost 5 & 4.

RADCLIFFE ON TRENT 6 STOKE 2
On a very hot and humid day, Radcliffe on Trent proved to be too strong for the Stoke seniors.       STOKE 4½ PETERBOROUGH MILTON 3½
Stoke returned to the winning way against a Peterborough Milton Team that would not have disgraced a B Team selection having 4 single figure handicappers.
