Poppy Appeal

The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal Golf Competition final round was held on Woodhall Spa's Bracken course on 8 Nov 07. 

 

. 

 The winner with a stableford score of 40, Bob Brown from Laceby Manor GC being presented with his Ping Rapture driver by Tony Goodwin, Chairman of the  Royal British Legion,  Lincolnshire.   The total for all Lincolnshire & Rutland sections so far is: £4065.90 - which with the gift aid supplement from the Exchequer should become £5204 !       

The weather was good apart from a light shower, the course was excellent - but new to most.  Despite the fairways appearing to be generous, some found problems with ditches and the woods! All in all, it was a good test of our golfing  abilities. 

First with 40 Stableford points was Bob Brown of Laceby Manor.
Second with 32 was John Acton of Stoke Rochford.
Third with 31 was Jon Matthew of Pottergate.
Fourth with 30 was Dave Hunt of Laceby Manor.
Fifth with 30 (ocb) was Maurice Westoby of Pottergate.


           The three teams competing were:    Pottergate Branston Moor

Brian Bradley, Brian Ames, Peter Isaac, John Matthews and Maurice Westoby.


Laceby Manor

Brian Slade, Alan Rogers, Pat Lond, Dave Hunt and Bob Brown.


 and Stoke Rochford

John Wright, John Acton, Terry Garland, Ray Elsome, Peter Stewart and John Helstrip.

2nd 4-ball:  Brian Ames, Brian Slade, Terry Garland and Brian Bradley.
